Transformation of the OUH
From 2027 the current Odense University Hospital (OUH) will be transformed into a green and vibrant urban area with mixed-use housing, large and small businesses, retail and a range of leisure and cultural offerings.
The project will be one of Denmark's largest transformation projects and is developed in cooperation between Freja Ejendomme, Realdania By & Byg and the city of Odense.
Open ideas competition
The partners behind the transformation of the current OUH site have completed an ideas competition on the future development of the area. More than 80 participants submitted a total of 122 proposals, which were presented to the public in an exhibition of competition boards held in connection with a public ideas festival in May.
On 18 June 2026, the best proposals were selected at a public award ceremony.
